The Tundra. A Bush Pilot’s Dream |
|
Imagine for a moment that you are a principal partner of a company that specializes in metal product manufacturing. You have state of the art CNC sheet metal cutting, robotic welding and computer aided design at your disposal. Now imagine that you’re totally hooked on back country aviation—the kind that requires rugged airplanes flown from floats and skis, competent pilots that have a keen sense of adventure, and a vast wilderness full of pristine lakes and remote strips. (That part wasn’t so hard, was it?) What would you do? |

DreamAircraft Tundra 180 Factory Tour and Flight |
|
Tuesday, I took a demo flight in the Tundra 200 and toured the Dream Aircraft factory. This is a long winded post of all of my impressions and opinions. I saw the Tundra 180 on exhibit at the Canadian Aviation Expo in Oshawa a couple of months ago and was immediately interested. All the articles and specifications indicated that the Tundra met all my requirements. I want a plane on amphibious floats that can take four people, and fuel. |

A Tundra 200 Flying Qualities Review Another mini-Beaver arrives in kit form from Canada. Dream Aircraft's Tundra 200 is a four-place, high-wing, taildragger/nose drugger/floatplane with a cock pit big enough to call a cabin and plenty of volume behind the rear seats for, well, all that stuff Beaver pilots put back there. Okay, it's not that big, but it's large enough for four people's stuff. |
